Mission Statement

Saint Bonaventure Parish is a Catholic-Christian Community of the Paterson-West Paterson area striving to live the Gospel Message in the Franciscan Tradition of Holy Name Province. We seek to espouse and proclaim this baptismal call through our shared ministries of Sacrament and Service to each other, to the alienated, to the needy, and to the oppressed.

St. Anthony Devotions

Each Tuesday after the 11:30am and 7:00pm Masses

Feast Day Novena: 13 Tuesdays prior to June 13 at the 11:30am and 7:00pm Mass.

St. Anthony Christmas Novena - The nine Tuesdays prior to Christmas.


Confessions

Saturdays 1-2 pm and by appointment.


Baptisms

Baptisms are celebrated on the second Sunday of each month at the 11:30 mass. Please call the Friary to register for Baptismal Preparation.


First Penance/Reconciliation & First Eucharist

First Penance/Reconciliation & First Eucharist are received by second graders who have attended CCD regularly for two years.

Confirmation is received in the high school years after completion of the required process.

Marriage

Couples planning to be married should consult with a Friar one year prior to begin preparation.


Communion

Communion is brought to the sick and homebound by our Eucharistic Ministers. Please call the Parish Office.


Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick is for those preparing for surgery, for the seriously ill and the elderly. 11:30am Mass with Anointing on the first Saturday of March, June, September, and December.


RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which adults become members of the Church through sacramental initiation or complete their initiation through Confirmation and Eucharist.
